Driver Handbooks
COTS Training are able to provide a tailored solution for your business. We can create, design and print an up to date operational LGV handbook for your drivers or staff. The content of a Driver Handbook will contain statutory advice such as sections on drivers’ hours, daily vehicle checks, what to do in the event of an accident and safe loading etc. We will then work with you to create specific sections that are tailored to your business, typically we have developed handbooks to include use of refrigerated equipment, transporting dangerous goods including waste transfer paperwork, safe operation of a lorry loader and projecting loads – there are no restrictions on what can be created. With our own inhouse designer, COTS guarantee that the quality and content of the handbook is not only useful and relevant but is also a high-quality document that can be demonstrated either if requested by the Traffic Commissioner or when undergoing a quality or FORS audit.
The driver handbook is a very useful way of ensuring that your drivers (and other staff) have essential information or instructions readily available to them at all times. It is also one way of evidencing that you have provided staff with information – a basic requirement of health and safety legislation.
